Gastroenterologists and hepatologists for hospitals, day-surgery centres, polyclinics and multi-speciality clinics in Dubai. The role mixes consultations with endoscopy: gastroscopy, colonoscopy and screening. We check the DHA licence route, whether the doctor has hands-on endoscopy volume and what your facility needs in place before the first procedure.
Hire a gastroenterologistLooking for a job?A doctor who combines a good consultation with safe, documented endoscopy and works well with anaesthesia, nursing and the laboratory.
A gastroenterologist in Dubai practises under a DHA title, usually Specialist or Consultant, within the specialty of the qualification. Endoscopy is done in a licensed facility with the right setup, so the licence of the doctor and the readiness of the unit are checked together.
What a doctor may do and where is set by the regulator and by the privileges the facility grants, so do not promise procedures before both are confirmed. Doctors licensed in Dubai can often start faster through a licence transfer.
| Level | Salary, AED/month |
|---|---|
| Specialist gastroenterologist | 30,000 - 48,000 |
| Consultant gastroenterologist | 48,000 - 70,000 |
| Endoscopy-heavy practice, session-based | fixed plus revenue share |
Market estimate and an orientation range only. Pay depends on endoscopy volume, whether the facility has its own unit, experience with advanced procedures and the pay model. Some clinics pay a fixed base plus a share of procedure revenue, which should be agreed in writing.
Besides the salary, the employer covers the work permit and residence visa, medical test, Emirates ID and mandatory health insurance. By UAE law these costs cannot be deducted from the employee's pay.
Exact visa and insurance costs depend on company category, emirate and plan. See the full cost of hiring guide or ask us for a budget for your case.
Market estimate: roughly 30,000 - 48,000 AED per month for a specialist and 48,000 - 70,000 AED for a consultant. Doctors who run an endoscopy list are often on a fixed base plus revenue share, so the total grows with the procedure volume.
A gastroenterologist with relevant procedure experience, a facility licensed for the procedures, an endoscopy room with scopes, a reprocessing process and sterilisation records, sedation or anaesthesia cover, trained nurses and a referral route to pathology. Ask the facility's regulator-facing contact to confirm the unit before you promise dates to patients.
