General surgeons for hospitals, day-surgery centres and clinics with minor procedure rooms in Dubai. Typical work covers hernia, gallbladder, appendix, breast and skin lesions, anal and soft-tissue procedures, plus consultations and follow-up. A surgeon cannot work without a theatre, anaesthesia and nursing, so we check the DHA licence route, the surgeon's real case log and whether your facility is licensed for the procedures.
Hire a general surgeonLooking for a job?A surgeon who selects patients carefully, operates safely within the facility's licence, and handles consent, complications and follow-up with the same care as the operation.
A general surgeon in Dubai practises under a DHA title, usually Specialist or Consultant, and operates only in a facility licensed for the procedures, with privileges granted by that facility. The doctor's licence and the facility's licence are checked together.
Do not hire the surgeon first and the theatre later. Operating privileges, the list of procedures, anaesthesia cover and malpractice insurance should be agreed in writing before the start date.
| Level | Salary, AED/month |
|---|---|
| Specialist general surgeon | 35,000 - 55,000 |

Market estimate and an orientation range only. Pay depends on the case mix, whether the surgeon brings referrals, hospital or clinic setting and the pay model. Hospital posts often combine a fixed salary with a performance part; visiting surgeons in day-surgery centres are often paid per case or by revenue share.
Besides the salary, the employer covers the work permit and residence visa, medical test, Emirates ID and mandatory health insurance. By UAE law these costs cannot be deducted from the employee's pay.
Exact visa and insurance costs depend on company category, emirate and plan. See the full cost of hiring guide or ask us for a budget for your case.
Market estimate: roughly 35,000 - 55,000 AED per month for a specialist and 55,000 - 80,000 AED for a consultant. Visiting surgeons in day-surgery settings are often paid per case or by revenue share, so the total depends on the volume you can offer.
A clinic can hire a surgeon for consultations, minor procedures within its licence, and follow-up, and refer operations to a partner hospital or day-surgery centre. Anything more depends on the facility licence, anaesthesia cover and the surgeon's privileges at the site where the operation takes place. Many clinics start with consultations and a partner hospital.
