Butlers for large villas, palaces and UHNW families in Dubai. A butler is the person who serves the family and its guests personally: the table, the drinks, the wardrobe, the arrivals and departures, the small rituals that make a home feel like a well-run private residence. The work is hands-on and visible, and the standard is set by the family, not by a hotel manual. We assess candidates on real service: a dinner for guests, a wardrobe and a day with the principal.
Hire a butlerLooking for a job?A butler who knows how the family likes things done, anticipates before being asked and keeps service calm when twenty guests arrive at once.
A butler is judged by the quality of service and by discretion. A good CV from a five-star hotel is a start, not proof: private service for one family is different from serving rotating guests. The checks below are practical.
Typical hiring mistake: hiring a butler when the home needs a house manager, or the other way round. A butler serves the family personally and sets service standards; a house manager runs the home as an operation: staff rotas, suppliers, maintenance and budgets. A housekeeper cleans and runs laundry and the kitchen. In a large villa with frequent guests, many families need both a house manager and a butler. Another common mistake: no written description of the family's standards, so a good butler from another household repeats the old house's habits.

Market estimate for 2026: about 9,000 - 15,000 AED per month for a butler in a family villa, 15,000 - 25,000 AED for a senior butler in an UHNW household and 25,000 AED and more for a head butler or a butler who travels with the family. Live-in accommodation and travel change the full package.
If you want personal service at the table, for guests and for the principal's wardrobe and travel, you need a butler. If you want someone to run the staff, suppliers, maintenance and the budget, you need a house manager. A villa with several staff and frequent guests often has both: the house manager runs the home, the butler runs the service.
