A hybrid assistant, often called a multi-assistant, is one person who runs an owner's business calendar and inbox, personal errands, travel, family logistics and the coordination of household staff. It is the most requested assistant role among Dubai founders, doctors and professionals who live and work in the same city and want one trusted point of contact instead of three. A hybrid assistant is not a licensed role. The person will see your business, your family and your home at once, so trust, boundaries and references matter more than any certificate.
How it differs from neighbouring roles. A personal assistant covers one person's diary and errands. An executive assistant supports the business side only. A family office assistant works for the whole family and its household, often without the owner's business. A house manager runs the home and its staff but not the owner's calendar. The hybrid assistant does all of it for one owner and one household. One person is enough when the business has its own office manager or team and the household is one home with up to three or four staff. You need two people (an EA plus a house or lifestyle manager) when there are several companies, several properties or frequent travel. Boundaries to agree in writing: working hours and the emergency rule, what is business and what is private, what the assistant may pay for and up to what amount, who manages the household staff when the assistant is away. Common hiring mistakes: hiring a junior PA for the price of a PA and expecting an EA, a travel agent and a house manager in one; no written scope; no backup for leave.

Orientation only, market estimate: the hybrid role sits between a personal assistant (5,000 - 10,000, senior 12,000+) and an executive assistant (12,000 - 20,000) and is paid for breadth and trust. Total package, basic salary plus allowances; the employer also pays visa, health insurance and gratuity provision. Travel with the family and management of household staff move the offer to the upper end.
Besides the salary, the employer covers the work permit and residence visa, medical test, Emirates ID and mandatory health insurance. By UAE law these costs cannot be deducted from the employee's pay.

Whatever you choose, write the scope, hours, emergency rule and spending limits down before the start.
