Compliance officers for trading companies, real estate businesses, holding groups, payment and fintech start-ups and other firms in Dubai that face growing questions from banks, regulators and partners. The compliance officer turns rules into daily practice: written policies people actually follow, client and supplier due diligence, screening and monitoring, staff training, records that stand up to a bank review or an inspection, and a clear escalation route. We assess candidates on a policy gap case and a due diligence file, not on certificates alone.
Hire a compliance officerLooking for a job?A compliance officer who knows which rules apply to your business, builds simple procedures your team follows and answers the bank's questions before the account gets frozen.
Compliance experience in a large bank does not always transfer to a trading company or an SME. The checks show whether the candidate can build a proportionate system and explain it to a team.
How it differs from neighbouring roles. A legal counsel advises on contracts, rights and disputes; a compliance officer runs the daily system of checks, records and training. A PRO officer handles government paperwork and renewals, not client due diligence. An internal auditor tests the system independently afterwards. Typical hiring mistake: copying a bank-style manual into a small trading company so nobody follows it; or giving compliance to an accountant on top of the month-end, so checks happen only when the bank asks.

If the business takes payments from many clients, works with cash, gold, property or cross-border trade, or banks keep sending review questions, a dedicated compliance officer usually saves time and protects the bank account. A small company with few clients may start with an external adviser and a trained internal person, and hire in-house as volumes grow. Which rules apply to your business is a question for your legal adviser; the compliance officer makes them work day to day.
