Restaurant hosts and hostesses for fine dining restaurants, beach clubs, lounges and hotel outlets in Dubai. The host is the first and last person the guest sees: runs the reservations system, builds the seating plan for the night, keeps the waiting list honest, greets VIPs by name and protects the kitchen from a rush of tables at once. We assess candidates at a mock door: a full booking sheet, walk-ins, an early VIP and a guest who insists on a table that is already taken.
Hire a restaurant hostessLooking for a job?A host who fills the room without overloading the kitchen, remembers the regulars and says no to a guest so politely that they book again.
The host's job looks easy until a Friday night. Check how the candidate thinks under pressure, not only how they present.
How it differs from a waiter: the waiter serves one section from order to bill; the host runs the whole room, the reservations and the flow of arrivals and rarely carries plates. Hire a separate host when the venue takes many bookings or has a door policy; in a small cafe the waiter or the manager covers the door. Typical hiring mistakes: hiring for appearance and languages without testing the booking system and the seating logic; describing looks, gender or age in the vacancy instead of the skills and languages you need.

Market estimate for 2026: about 3,000 - 4,500 AED per month for a host or hostess, 4,500 - 6,500 AED in fine dining, a beach club or a lounge, and 6,000 - 8,500 AED for a head host or reservations supervisor. Housing, transport, service charge or tips can change the full package.
The host or hostess runs the door: reservations, the seating plan, the waiting list and the pace of arrivals for the whole room. The waiter serves the tables of one section from order to bill. Busy restaurants, beach clubs and lounges need both; a small cafe can manage with waiters and a manager at the door.
