Hire a governess in Dubai

Governesses for families in Dubai with school-age children. A governess is responsible for the child's learning and development at home: homework and reading, languages, the routine around school, activities and manners. She or he works with the school calendar and the parents' goals, not only with meals and bedtime. Many Russian-speaking families want the child to keep Russian reading and writing while studying in an English-language school, and the governess is the person who makes that daily. We assess candidates on how they teach and how they talk to a child.

Who we help you hire

A governess who knows where each child is in every subject, keeps homework and reading on track and talks to parents with facts, not impressions.

What to check before hiring

The title is used loosely in Dubai: some candidates are qualified teachers, some are experienced nannies. Check how the person teaches and plans, not only how they care for a child.

1
Lesson sample: a 20-minute lesson for a child of the right age: a reading or maths topic from the child's school year. We look at how the candidate checks understanding, corrects mistakes and keeps attention.
2
Weekly plan task: the candidate gets a school timetable, a list of clubs and two weak subjects, and writes a week of homework, reading and activities. Realistic load, rest included, priorities clear.
3
Parent conversation role-play: the child's grades dropped and the parents disagree on screen time. The candidate explains what they saw and suggests a plan. Calm, factual, on the parents' side.
4
References from families: calls to previous families: ages of the children, how long the candidate stayed, what changed in the child's results and behaviour; a written list of responsibilities and boundaries for the first month.

Typical hiring mistake: hiring a governess but using her as a nanny and a housekeeper, so there is no time for learning. A nanny looks after a child's care, safety, food and sleep, usually for younger children; a governess is responsible for education and development of school-age children. If your child is under four, a nanny is usually the right role. Another mistake: not agreeing the language of the day in advance, so the child gets English at school, English at home and loses Russian.
