Metrics, control and management reporting

An owner should see what matters in five minutes: what you earned, where utilisation is dropping, who in the team is falling behind and whether there is enough cash for next month. We pick the 10-15 metrics that really run the business, set up automatic calculation and introduce a rhythm: a daily summary, a weekly meeting, a monthly report.

FAQ.

Do we need to buy new software?

Usually not. We start with what you already have: CRM, booking system, POS, bank. We suggest a new tool only if the data cannot be collected without it.

How many metrics does an owner need?

Usually 5-7 numbers on the daily screen and 10-15 in the weekly review. More rarely helps: people stop looking at the report.

Does this replace the accountant?

No. The accountant keeps the books and handles taxes. Management reporting answers a different question: what is happening in the business right now and which decisions to make. We reconcile the two so the numbers match.
