The same questions reach us from almost every person who considers becoming an assistant in Dubai, and they rarely get a straight answer from a vacancy text. We collected the fifteen most frequent ones and answered each in a few lines, honestly and without selling the profession to anyone. The figures are market estimates in AED per month, total package, basic salary plus allowances; the employer also pays the visa, health insurance and gratuity provision. This article is part of our School of assistants series; the linked guides go deeper on each topic.
Talk to usThe first group of questions is about status: what the job is and what it is not.
The second group is about the entrance: experience, English, and where you can work from.
The third group is about the numbers and the hours.
The fourth group is about the person you will work with.
Three practical steps if the answers above made the profession look right for you.
TLNT is a hiring consultancy. Employers ask us to search for assistants against criteria agreed at the start; we assess candidates with a practical skills assessment on real tasks and introduce the ones who meet the criteria. The employer interviews, makes the hiring decision and agrees the terms with the candidate; the person is employed directly by the employer, the employer sponsors the visa and we give a step-by-step checklist.
For candidates: send your CV through our candidates page or build one in the free CV builder; we let you know when an employer has a matching vacancy. Candidates never pay us.
Our fee is fixed for each role and agreed before the search starts. A 10% prepayment of the fee starts the search, the rest is due once the person has started work. If it does not work out, we find a replacement free of charge; the period is set in the contract. Consulting and CRM projects are priced after a free review.
No. Employers in Dubai hire assistants of both genders and of all working ages. The offer depends on written English, the leader's other languages, tools, judgement and references, not on age or gender. Mature candidates often win executive and family office roles because of life experience and calm. A vacancy that filters by age or gender instead of skills is one to skip.
In roles that support one person's whole life it happens sometimes; in administrative roles rarely. What matters is agreeing reachability in the first week: what counts as an emergency, which channel, how the time is compensated. Working hours and rest follow the contract and current UAE labour rules. A good employer writes this down with you.
